Brooks Koepka Commits to 3M Open
Mar 21, 2019
The competition is heating up for the 3M Open as top-ranked Brooks Koepka commits to playing with some of the PGA’s best on July 1-7, 2019, at the TPC Twin Cities.

Koepka, ranked No. 3 in the world, is the fifth top 20 player making early plans to compete here. Earlier, the 3M Open received commitments from World No. 6 Bryson DeChambeau, No. 12 Jason Day, No. 16 Patrick Reed, the reigning Masters Tournament winner, and No. 21 Phil Mickelson, a five-time major championship winner.

Collectively, this group has accumulated 71 career victories on the PGA TOUR—30 of those earned in the past five and a half seasons.

“I am excited to be a part of the new 3M Open and experience the great golf fans of the region once again,” said Koepka. “I have heard good things about the golf course and I am also looking forward to seeing Zac Brown in concert.”

Last year, Koepka won the U.S. Open and PGA Championship and was named the PGA TOUR Player of the Year. Those two major championship titles are in addition to his 2017 U.S. Open win.

“The early support and commitment we’re getting from players of this caliber is just tremendous,” said Peter Mele, 3M Open Tournament Director. “As a new event on the PGA TOUR schedule, we could not be happier as we prepare for what will be a tremendous week for all involved.”

Proceeds from the 3M Open will go to charities through the 3M Open Fund, including University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital. The 3M Open Fund is a nonprofit organization in charge of directing the tournament’s charitable efforts.

Fans can find ticket and hospitality options on the tournament’s website www.3MOpen.com.
