Two 3M Executives to Retire; Successors Named

3M today announced the following executive leadership changes:

  • Jean Lobey, executive vice president, Safety, Security and Protection Services Business, has announced he will retire June 1, 2011. A 35-year 3M employee, Lobey, 58, spent many years in the consumer business before leading 3M’s resurgence in the occupational health and safety and security markets for the last five years.
  • Julie L. Bushman is appointed executive vice president, Safety, Security and Protection Services Business, replacing Lobey. A 28-year 3M employee, Bushman was most recently vice president and general manager of 3M’s Occupational Health and Environmental Safety Division.
  • Robert D. MacDonald, senior vice president, Marketing and Sales, has announced he will retire May 1, 2011. A 37-year 3M employee, MacDonald, 60, built businesses in the health care and automotive markets before leading the company’s sales and marketing functions for the last six years.
  • Ian F. Hardgrove is appointed senior vice president, Marketing and Sales, replacing MacDonald. A 30-year 3M employee, Hardgrove was most recently vice president and general manager of 3M’s Automotive Aftermarket Division.
