eAudiobooks Debut on New 3M Cloud Library App

Updated app makes browsing, reading and listening easier than ever

3M Library Systems has unveiled the latest addition to its 3M Cloud Library Digital Lending System—eAudiobooks. Supported by the newly updated 3M Cloud Library patron app—with 500,000 downloads and counting—the eAudiobook collection currently includes 40,000 titles powered by Findaway World, with content from every major publisher in the audiobook space.

“We’re very pleased to be able to offer both eBook and eAudiobook titles within our 3M Cloud Library collection,” said Melissa Gearhart, Acquisitions Librarian at West Georgia Regional Library. “3M’s user-friendly, dual-format platform makes it easy for our patrons to discover and utilize these digital resources.”

To access the content, patrons must have the most current version of the 3M Cloud Library patron app, which has been updated and optimized for eAudiobook discovery, checkout and listening. eAudio titles are compatible on all devices using 3M Cloud Library applications, and users can immediately start listening once titles are checked out. The app also bookmarks eAudiobooks so users can access them across a range of devices and easily pick up where they left off.

Head of Adult Programming at Darien Library in Darien, Conn., Erin Shea has already begun using eAudiobooks herself. “The 3M Cloud Library app makes it easy to listen to eAudiobooks. Unlike other apps, my place in a book is never forgotten and the one-touch button makes it easy to listen in the car or on home speakers,” said Shea.

Additional updates to the latest 3M Cloud Library app include new customizable features that allow patrons to personalize how they browse for eBook and eAudiobook content. The app’s redesigned interface allows users to flag their favorite types of content and sort titles into custom categories. Additional ease-of-use improvements include improved aesthetics and updated terminology and feature descriptions.
