3M Files Lawsuit Against Group of Its Former Distributors for False Rebate Claims

3M filed a lawsuit today in the U.S. District Court of Minnesota against a group of its former distributors doing business as Universal Medical Distributors for Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) violations, fraud, civil conspiracy, negligent misrepresentation, and breach of contract.

The complaint alleges that APO Health Inc., Universal Medsurg Supplies Inc. Universal Medical Distributors International Ltd., and Kenneth R. Leventhal, all doing business as Universal Medical Distributors, submitted false rebate claims and point-of-sale information that led to the receipt of more than $2.5 million dollars to which they were not entitled.

This suit reflects 3M’s diligence and commitment to ensuring fair and ethical business practices.
