Healthcare Leaders from Around the World Convene in St. Paul for 3M I.V. Global Leadership Summit, May 18-20

As a leader in delivering best-in-class education to clinicians and raising the standards of care to improve patient outcomes, 3M today announced an I.V. Global Leadership Summit taking place May 18 – 20. In partnership with BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) and Teleflex, the I.V. Global Leadership Summit will bring together more than 100 infusion care experts from 21 countries around the world to focus on prevention of catheter-related bloodstream infections (CRBSI), securement best practices, clinical practice guidelines, clinical evidence and the value of technology.

May 18: 3M I.V. Global Leadership Summit Welcome Reception
3M is welcoming leaders from around the world to learn about trends in IV site care and new ways to advance securement and eliminate catheter-related bloodstream infections through knowledge, collaboration and leadership. Renowned author John Nance will provide a keynote speech on “Why Hospitals Should Fly” to encourage attendees to take the necessary steps towards changing hospital culture to one that is patient-centered and focused on supporting the teams that provide the care. The educational events begin with a global overview of clinical practice guidelines, including Center for Disease Control, EPIC and Infusion Nurses Society, led by a panel of some of the industry’s preeminent thought leaders in infusion therapy: Mark Rupp, M.D., Lisa Gorski, R.N., and Andrew Jackson, R.N. Summit attendees also are invited to afternoon poster sessions, hands-on simulation labs and a tour of the 3M Innovation Center following the morning sessions on clinical practice guidelines.

May 20: 3M I.V. Global Leadership Summit Interactive Session Part II – Live and Webcast
The final day of the summit includes several educational sessions on the role of technology to advance the science of IV care, also available through live Webcast, followed by best practice sharing and oral presentations by attendees. Any healthcare professional can receive one hour of RN CE credit per morning session they attend, and all with an interest in improving IV-related patient care are welcome to participate.
