Junior Achievement of Central Texas was awarded $25,000 for programming at Wooten Elementary, Burnet Middle School and Lanier High School. Teachers at these schools will work with a trained community volunteer to deliver financial literacy, work readiness and entrepreneurship curriculum.
Greater Austin Performing Arts Center, Inc. received $20,000 for the 2014-2015 Redd Carpet Fund. This grant will allow small and emerging Austin-based arts organizations to use the Long Center’s equipment and performance spaces.
A grant of $5,000 to Austin YMBL Sunshine Camps will support the new Sunshine Afterschool program at Fulmore Middle School. The camp engages students in STEM, life skills and outdoor education to prepare them for high school.
