3M 360 Encompass System is top performer in new Computer-Assisted Coding Software segment
3M Health Information Systems was recognized as the “Category Leader” in two coding software categories in the "2013 Best in KLAS 2: Software & Services” report, published by KLAS Research.1 The 3M 360 Encompass System, which integrates and automates coding and clinical documentation improvement (CDI) processes, received the highest marks in the new Computer-Assisted Coding software category. 3M Codefinder Software ranked first in the Medical Records Coding Software category for the sixth year in a row.
This year’s KLAS rankings are based on evaluations submitted by more than 16,000 healthcare providers. Based on provider input, the report was expanded to include computer-assisted coding (CAC) software in recognition of the technology’s value in addressing anticipated ICD-10 challenges. The 3M 360 Encompass System was ranked first in the CAC category. As noted in the “Computer Assisted Coding 2013: What’s the Impact?” KLAS report, 3M achieved the highest scores in 24 out of 25 performance measures, including software functionality, implementation and training, and quality of support. More than 1,000 leading hospitals and facilities have awarded contracts to 3M for 3M 360 Encompass, which offers auto-suggested codes, real-time prompts for clinical documentation specificity, and concurrent access to quality performance data.
