Bally Technologies, GTECH and IGT win top honors leveraging innovative 3M touch technologies for breakthrough and new product designs
At Global Gaming Expo 2013 (September 2013, Las Vegas, NV), the 2014 Gaming & Technology Award for “Best Slot Product”, sponsored by Global Gaming Business magazine, was shared by Bally Technologies, GTECH and IGT for the most innovative slot games and machines on display. With on-screen interactivity a common thread among this year’s winning games, these leading game manufacturers used innovative 3M touch solutions to help enhance their award-winning products.
- Bally Technologies’ Pro Series™ Wave™ Cabinet with its sleek 40” curved projected capacitive (3M PCT) multi-touch touchscreen (developed for Bally by 3M) is creating a new category of slot game style. The large concave touch display provides players with a vast, uninterrupted interactive surface for immersive slot and bonus round play. This award-winning cabinet also includes Bally’s revolutionary iDeck™ multi-touch player interface provided by 3M. Both touch solutions are examples of how 3M touch innovation helps support Bally’s award-winning product development.
- SPIELO’s Sphinx 3D™ by GTECH was honored for technical innovation by creating a first-of-its-kind glasses-free 3D experience for slot players. By matching a 23” 3M projected capacitive (3M PCT) multi-touch touchscreen, customized to assist with the game’s eye-tracking capability, with an exclusively-designed SeeFront glasses-free 3D display, GTECH has broken new ground in slot innovation.
- IGT’s James Cameron’s AVATAR™ Video Slot Series with “gripping content, captivating graphics and incredible innovation” was enhanced for play by 3M’s 42” surface capacitive touchscreen. The premium optics and touch reliability of 3M’s largest surface capacitive (3M SCT) touchscreen (developed for IGT) helped them impress show judges and attendees with bright and bold large-area game play.
