As more occupational health and safety professionals are using smartphones on the job, 3M has created a new mobile application that provides hearing protection and conservation information for iOS and Android devices.
“We want to bring health and safety information to the palm of our customers’ hands”, said Nicole Vars McCullough, PhD, CIH, global technical services manager, 3M Personal Safety Division. “Our goal is to help simplify health and safety professional’s decisions around hearing protection – and with all the things a mobile app can do for them – we’re a step closer to doing just that.”
Using the free mobile app, industrial hygienists and safety professionals can perform a quick preliminary assessment of sound levels in an environment1; get answers to frequently asked hearing conservation questions; view a full catalog of hearing protection options from 3M, find out more about how to assess proper fit for hearing protection products, understand how to set up a Hearing Conservation program and how to contact 3M technical or customer service with any additional questions.
In addition to this app, 3M Personal Safety Division recently launched a respiratory protection app and a mobile version of its website to help industrial hygienists and safety managers have broader access to information on Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Safety Solutions on mobile and tablet devices.
