3M Announces the 27th Annual Occupational Health and Safety Scholarship Winners

3M supports quality education and training in the occupational health and safety profession

3M’s Personal Safety Division (PSD) has announced the winners of its 27th annual Occupational Health and Safety Scholarship Program.

The 2013 Occupational Health and Safety Scholarship winners are as follows:

  • James Dietrich – University of Cincinnati
  • Pamela Dopart – Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health
  • Christopher J. Fraser – University of Toronto, Dalla Lana School of Public Health
  • Megan Moore – University of Alabama at Birmingham

3M’s scholarship program is an annual commitment to supporting outstanding students pursuing a graduate degree in occupational health and safety in the United States. This program recognizes graduate students for their high level of academic achievement, contribution to the profession, and intent to pursue industrial careers in the discipline of Occupational Health and Safety.

With this program, 3M Personal Safety Division awards each winner a $5,000 scholarship and attendance to the 2013 American Industrial Hygiene conference & exposition (AIHce) in Montreal, Quebec. Scholarship awardees were chosen in accordance with program rules on the basis of academic achievement, related experience and professional goals. They were chosen by a selection committee composed of 3M PSD management and 3M corporate industrial hygienists.

“We are continually impressed with the quality of applicants and submissions each year,” said Nicole Vars McCullough, PhD, CIH, and 3M Global Technical Service Manager (and winner of 3M’s 1994 occupational health and safety scholarship award). “The scholarship program supports graduate training and continues to build professionals in the area of occupational health and safety”.
