Zero solvent adhesive offers outstanding performance

3M introduces a new, revolutionary alternative to solvent based adhesives: 3M™ Fast Tack Water Based Adhesive 1000NF. While many adhesive users have been underwhelmed with water based products in the past, 3M Fast Tack Water Based Adhesive 1000NF is poised to change perceptions about what water based adhesives can do. The product offers strength and speed comparable to solvent based adhesives, with additional benefits including zero VOCs and GREENGUARD™ certification.

Suitable for a wide variety of applications—including furniture manufacturing, mattress and upholstery manufacturing, woodworking, foam bonding and insulation attachment, and specialty vehicle manufacturing—3M Fast Tack Water Based Adhesive 1000NF is derived from a tape formulation that gains strength as it dries. This chemistry gives the adhesive capabilities that were lacking in previous water based adhesives, including fast bonding (1 to 10 minutes) and a strong ultimate strength. Depending on the substrates used, the adhesive can achieve handling strength almost instantly, yet remains repositionable while still wet. Additionally, substrates stay repositionable while the adhesive is wet.

The long-term stable bonds provided by 3M Fast Tack Water Based Adhesive 1000NF also offer good heat resistance. The adhesive is non-flammable in its wet state, and contains no polychloroprene. 3M Fast Tack Water Based Adhesive 1000NF bonds most foams, plastics, plastic laminates, wood, plywood and canvas to themselves and each other, giving it utility for a broad range of industries.
