Lennox International Selects the HighJump Manufacturing Execution System to Further Lean Initiatives

HighJump Software, a 3M company, a global provider of supply chain execution solutions, today announced that Lennox International Inc. (NYSE: LII) has selected the HighJump manufacturing execution system (MES), HighJump Manufacturing Advantage, to support its lean production environment. LII will implement the solution in its one million square-foot facility in Marshalltown, Iowa. The company currently intends to roll out the HighJump MES to its remaining 10 North American sites.

A current client for ERP data collection, LII again chose to work with HighJump Software based on its demonstrated expertise with shop floor systems and ERP system integration. The HighJump MES will integrate with LII’s SAP ERP to reduce paper on the manufacturing floor through lean material flow capabilities. Additionally, LII will utilize the solution for serialized production, product genealogy, tracking of purchase order receipts and WIP material movement, Kanban replenishment and real-time shop floor visibility. The manufacturer will also have the ability to easily carry out business process configuration to adjust to ongoing business changes.

The HighJump MES coordinates key aspects of production, including resources, materials and schedules. The solution will give work instructions via Web-based touch-screens on the shop floor and capture real-time data such as production time, resource status, and material consumptions and completions, allowing management a full view of the each work center’s status against plan. The system will synchronize material movements with shop floor operations by managing the flow of inventory from point of receipt through production completion.

“As LII continues its work to lower cost and improve customer service, we looked to HighJump Software to assist in our efforts,” said Pat Ryan, LII manufacturing shop floor IT manager. “As a current HighJump Software client, we believe the rock-solid platform and expandability of the HighJump solution make it a great fit for LII.”

“With the HighJump manufacturing execution system, LII will have the material flow control and real-time visibility necessary to enable a lean environment,” said Joel Levinson, president, HighJump Software. “HighJump Software is proud to continue to play a key role in the company’s lean initiatives.”
