Another Flight Delay? Find Your Haven and Win $1,000

3M Privacy Filters Airport Havens Contest Helps Weary Travelers Find Respite

Here’s the scene – a two-hour flight has suddenly become a six-hour ordeal, thanks to a weather delay. Meanwhile, you have a presentation to finish and you haven’t checked e-mail since last night. For many people, this scene may sound all too familiar. Several recent studies have revealed a marked increase in air travel delays. Wouldn’t it be great if there were an oasis within the airport where people could hunker down and work in a relatively peaceful, private setting? The makers of 3M Computer Privacy Filters can help you find that haven.

Their new Web site www.airporthavens.com provides travelers access to those gems that provide a brief respite from the hustle and bustle of the airport experience. Airport havens allow business travelers to work in comfort while waiting for their flights. The site features recommendations culled from travelers from across the country. Share your haven and you might just win $1,000.

Here’s how to enter:

1. Visit www.airporthavens.com

2. Complete the Official Entry Form

3. Submit your Airport Haven

Entries will be judged by business travel expert Chris McGinnis, publisher of The Ticket, a blog dedicated to keeping travelers informed and up-to-date. From now through December 2007, one entry per month will be selected as the winner of a $1,000 prize.

“No matter how much advance planning we put into business and pleasure trips, sometimes, delays are unavoidable,” said Chris McGinnis, publisher of The Ticket. “More and more, I'm noticing that people are choosing to make the best out of it by finding a bit of peace and quiet in the airport where they can catch up on work or get other errands done on their laptops. They should be aware when doing so that other travelers may be looking at their screens – it's human nature.”

Entries may also be submitted by mail to 3M Airport Havens Contest, c/o Hunter Public Relations, 41 Madison Avenue, 5th Floor, New York, New York, 10010. Visit the Web site for the entry form and a complete set of contest rules.

3M Privacy Filters help prevent “wandering eyes” from viewing confidential information on laptop computer screens and LCD monitors. Using a proprietary microlouver technology, the filter allows people sitting directly in front of the screen to see their documents and information while effectively darkening side views. All 3M Privacy Filters feature Vikuiti technology, which improves screen color, contrast and clarity. For more information on the filters, please visit www.3Mprivacyfilter.com.
