3M and Faultless™ Starch Team Up to Launch New Stain Resistant Spray Starch

- Scotchgard™ Protector Adds Stain Repellency and Resistance to Faultless™ Spray Starch -

ST. PAUL, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--3M announced today an agreement with The Faultless Starch/Bon Ami Company to produce a first of its kind spray starch with the added benefits of Scotchgard Protector stain repellency and resistance.

The new spray starch, Faultless Starch Plus Stain Resistance, helps repel a variety of common stains from fabrics, including juice, coffee, wine and oil. Simply spray it on fabric while ironing and the heat of the iron will help activate the Scotchgard Protector. It helps keep clothes and linens looking new longer, while adding a crisp, fresh scent.

“3M’s teaming with Faultless Starch is the latest in a series of collaborations to bring stain protection and release technology to the consumer,” said Paul Colbert, business manager, for the Scotchgard brand. “We are continually seeking opportunities to expand the Scotchgard Protector product portfolio and offer stain protection all around the house.”

Consumers can also enjoy Scotchgard stain protection in the following products:

-- Ace Sensations Paint with Scotchgard Protector: helps repel common household stains so they wash off walls easily with soap and water, and provides a mildew-resistant coating, making it a great choice to use in kitchens and baths.

-- Congoleum Xclusive Resilient Flooring featuring Scotchgard Protector: the first-ever resilient flooring featuring Scotchgard Protector built into the wear surface. It helps keep the surface clean and retain its original appearance by resisting soil, dirt and dust.

-- Mohawk Hardwood Flooring featuring Scotchgard Protector Advanced Repel Technology: the first-ever pre-finished hardwood flooring to boast Scotchgard stain repellency. Stains clean up more easily making for a more durable and longer-lasting floor.

-- BISSELL Pet Odor and Soil Removal Formula with Scotchgard Protector: a machine formula designed for anyone with a pet in their family. It penetrates fibers, breaks down difficult pet odors and cleans tracked-in dirt and stains.

Faultless Starch Plus Stain Resistance will be available starting in November 2007 at mass merchandisers and grocery stores for a suggested retail price of $3.29.
