3M Adds the 3M SelfCheck System Model VFour to its Family of Trusted Library Solutions

RFID, Tattle-Tape Security and Multiple Book Detection Offers Enhanced Security

3M announces the addition of the new 3M SelfCheck System Model VFour to its family of proven library solutions. The SelfCheck Model VFour employs patented, 3M-exclusive multiple book detection, and leverages the technology of both radio frequency identification (RFID) and Tattle-Tape security technology to help provide greater library material security and staff productivity.

The SelfCheck Model VFour begins with features that make it easy to use. A touch screen, simple instructions and a distinctive V design that aids proper material placement all help customers achieve successful self-checkout and check in.

Add security. 3M Tattle-Tape Security Strips use electromagnetic security technology, recognized as the most reliable security technology available in the industry, to alert staff when materials removed from the library are not properly checked out. Multiple book detection, patented by 3M, further secures collections by recognizing more than one item placed for checkout and ensuring each item is checked out before desensitizing the Tattle-Tape security strip.

Add efficiency. The SelfCheck Model VFour system identifies items using RFID technology – a fast, easy and efficient way to identify library materials.

Add design. Kiosk, tabletop or custom-integrated design choices added to the proven performance features help give libraries optimal flexibility.

“3M Library Systems help our customers meet their productivity, security and information management needs,” said Loren Bregel, marketing development supervisor, 3M Library Systems. “Our customized solutions fit the ever-changing needs of libraries and help them achieve new levels of service, while reducing costs and improving customer satisfaction.”
