3M, the industry leader in packaging equipment and services, announced today at the 2004 PackExpo Conference the availability of the 3M polygun AE II applicator designed to dispense 3M Jet-melt adhesives including the new 3M Jet-melt general purpose adhesive 3750.
3M Jet-melt 3750 adhesive is an affordable formulation optimized for the new high-volume 3M polygun AE II applicator. The low viscosity of the Jet-melt 3750 adhesive provides a consistently high flow rate for increased production. Its excellent hot tack properties allow it to adhere quickly while providing up to 50 seconds of bonding range time to meet production requirements. 3M Jet-melt adhesive provides the shear and peel strengths needed for applications such as sealing cartons in manually carton closing operations.
The 3M polygun AE II applicator offers the best features of a high-volume industrial system in a compact, self-contained applicator. The rugged 20-ounce tool is engineered for professional use, offering adhesive flows at 4 pounds per hour to keep up with assembly line speeds. The 3M polygun AE II applicator warms up in three minutes and maintains its 400 degrees F (204 degrees C) temperature through a 250-watt Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) system for consistent application and bonding. A built-in stand helps keep the applicator upright, stable and ready to grip and the positive check valve nozzle helps minimize drips.
