Fast Company talks employees and innovation with John Banovetz
Aug 6, 2019

As 3M makes Fast Company’s list of the  50 Best Workplaces for Innovators in 2019, the magazine talks with John Banovetz, senior vice president of research and development and chief technology officer, about our culture of innovation that generates about 3,000 patents a year and has helped us grow into a company of 91,000 employees in 87 countries.

Says Fast Company, “The company’s approach to innovation is at once simple and hard to replicate, and trusted in the hands of its employees. It combines market and customer insights with deep technology expertise and a collaborative culture to create products that improve lives.”

That deep expertise is summarized in our Periodic Table of Technology Platforms, which can be put together in unique combinations to create differentiated products.

“Banovetz says when you focus on creating impactful products and make room for employees to innovate, the business success follows. For 3M, that means continued growth, profitability, return on investment for shareholders, and amazing career opportunities for 3Mers,” notes Fast Company.
